20 Reasons Women Choose SelfDefense At Home

Expert Article By: Ken Keiscome

Self-defense is a necessity. Crime and violence is on the rise and no neighborhood is immune from this terrible onslaught. Why take years to learn the basics of self-defense when you can learn some highly effective, deadly accurate moves in just a few hours. Practice them periodically and refine your knowledge.

Why Learn the Art of Self-Protection at Home?

1.Increase in your self-confidence.

The more you learn and understand the basics of self-defense; your self-confidence levels will increase. When your confidence goes up it will spill over into all areas of your life. People will notice a change in you. Your step will have more spring to it.

2.You work in areas where you have to walk alone at night to your car.

Most places women work at don?t offer security guards to accompany you to your car after work; you are on your own. Attacks in parking lots and parking garages are increasing. Those are areas that are usually semi isolated and not well patrolled or lit. They?re a prime place for attacks.

3.Reduce your worry so you can sleep better.

When people are plagued with fear and worry their sleep suffers. Lack of sleep creates anxiety, depression and a general bad mood. You get mad easy and your temper flares up quickly. Your relationship with your family and friends can suffer because of your lack of sleep.

4.Get more exercise.

Today our country has the most obese, out of shape and tired people, in the entire world. Heart attack rates have dramatically increased over the years. A lack of sleep can shorten your life span considerably. The exercise you get with our program isn?t a lot. But we do find that people start to feel better about themselves as they start to put more effort in the exercise portion of their lives. This in turn leads to greater health.

5.You?ll learn in your in your own home and at your own pace.

Most women today are very busy, as both husband and wife need to work to make ends meet. That just doesn?t leave a lot of time to travel to a dojo to workout several times a week.

6.You can invite a friend to workout with you.

It really takes dedicated people to drive themselves and workout trying to accomplish a goal such as self-defense. The chore turns into a fun task when you have someone to share the experience with. Invite a friend over and both can learn the program together. It makes the process that much more realistic too. Having a real person to practice the moves on is the way to go.

7.Violent crimes are increasing and happening in all neighborhoods.

It doesn?t matter where you live anymore; all neighborhoods are experiencing some sort of increase in crime. Granted, some areas are much safer than others, but the trend is still everywhere. You owe it to yourself and your family to prepare for any encounter.

8.Want to loose weight.

It?s a proven fact, any type of activity is good for you and most activities will help you hold or even loose weight. I understand some people have medical problems with their weight and I?m not talking to that segment of the population. The rest need to work in this area. How about being around to enjoy your grandkids?

9.No monthly fees.

With our program at PDS Personal Defense Systems you pay once and never have any monthly fees like you would have at a dojo or gym. Put the money you?ll save into a new wardrobe as the weight comes off and you tone up.

10. How to instantly spot potentially dangerous situations and avoid them.

It?ll surprise you, as you become more aware, how many dangerous situations are happening all around you. Learn to spot them and avoid them. If you can?t, learn how to deal with them in your favor with self-defense.

11. You?ll learn how to keep your mind active, alert, and open.

As your mind becomes more active, your senses start to open up and you?ll naturally become more alert to dangerous situations. You?ll spot them instantly and avoid them completely.

12. You?ll learn how to be in control and stay in control.

As you practice you?ll learn what control is, and when that happens you?ll know how to stay in control. Sometimes in a panic situation it won?t look like you?re in control, but in fact you will be. If things happen to get out of control, you?ll learn how to regain the upper hand.

13. You?ll learn you don?t have to be perfect to be extremely effective.

Unlike traditional martial arts, perfection isn?t necessary. Execution of each move, geared to your particular body style, is what makes this system work. If a particular move doesn?t feel right to you, keep the basic structure but change it to fit your body style.

14. You?ll learn to function automatically.

As you gain confidence and skill, through the action of the mind training the body training the mind, you?ll notice you?re starting to just react to certain situations. Women who don?t know how to react in panic situations tend to freeze up. Some will try to fight back but will actually only make the situation worse because they don?t know how to effectively strike their attacker.

15. You?ll learn how these techniques can be taught to every member of the family.

Once you learn the system, teach it to your family members. If they aren?t interested in learning everything, teach them some of the most lethal and important moves.

16. You?ll learn that self-defense is actually fun.

As you progress through the various lessons you?ll start to enjoy what is happening to you and your training partner. You?ll have a lot of fun as you progress in knowledge and understanding of women?s self-defense.

17. You?ll learn how to end every assault quickly and get back to safety.

An assault is generally won or lost in the first 5 seconds. You need to know the deadly moves to use during that time frame. If it drags out too long, you?ll become too tired and won?t be effective. Learn to strike quickly and precisely at the most sensitive pressure points on your assailant?s body.

18. You?ll learn about preventive defense, and how to stay out of compromising situations.

It?s better NOT to ever get into a fight. By noticing bad situations before they come your way you start to understand the art of preventive defense. Drive away from a questionable area; don?t walk through a crowd if it doesn?t feel right to you.

19. Learn to trust in your instincts.

This area is ignored much too often. Pay attention to that inner voice all of us have even if it seems silly to you at times. It is always better to be safe, than sorry.

20. Learn to always smile and look at the good in all situations.

This doesn?t mean you bury your head in the sand. It simply means start to become a positive person. Life is much too short to be a grump. Smile and enjoy what you have. If you don?t have much, smile and know that it?s up to you to move to a higher level in life.

The high paced world we are living in is becoming increasingly unsafe across all racial and class barriers. It is time to get the knowledge to fight back and regain our freedom.

Open Question: Associated with Biblical context, is it sinful to be a vegetarian?

Please, no sarcasm. I respect all religions and faiths and beliefs, and I ask you do the same for me. I don't see why or how it could be sinful. However, I could see it being a sinful act if you were taking upon this lifestyle as a trend or as a worldly decision. Myself, on the other hand, have watched several videos and researched for BOTH sides of the story; I find more negative than positive. I find it difficult to consume meat products now, in fear of SUPPORTING the criminal acts in which factory farm owners and slaughterhouse owners engage in, willingly. Animals are God's creation, they shouldn't be handled the way they are. I've looked on websites, but you never know which Christians to trust these days. Also, I'm 17, 5'7, and 115 lbs. What kind of effects would a vegetarian diet have on my health? Please help, thank youuu.

Open Question: Are there any serious, scientifically researched challenges to the health benefits of being vegan?

Every once in awhile an article hits the media that challenges veganism and vegetarianism as healthy lifestyles. I have heard that soy contains phytoestrogens and so promotes cancer, but I know that there is a huge amount of estrogen in dairy products, and as a vegan I don't eat those, so I'm not too worried about phytoestrogens in soy. Once I came across a meat lobby study where researchers went to a village where the kids were starving. They didn't do anything to help the village, but they did give half of the kids small amounts of meat to supplement their deficient diets. When the kids who they gave meat to did better than the kids they left to starve, they trumpeted the benefits of meat eating. I did hear once about malnutrition in a vegan, but it was someone who subsisted on Red Vines and sodapop, or something like that. I keep thinking that if there were actually any proof, or even a ton of anecdotal evidence that vegans who make reasonable dietary choices are in some kind of health danger, then interested parties would make sure the news was spread far and wide. What have you heard? This really is a sincere question. I have many friends who doubt that veganism is a healthy lifestyle, or feel that it's not for them for whatever reason, and I respect their choices. I've been vegan since 1999, and I never cheat, so if there are health risks I haven't heard about, then they might affect me. My Traditional Chinese Medicine naturopath would prefer that I ate meat, and obviously I think she's a good care provider, but I know that all TCM folks believe that meat eating is recommended. What I'm looking for here are studies or theories that you find convincing.

Open Question: What should I do with this friend…..? pls help me…?

It was in year 2005, when I was in class 11… before class 10 I had many friends who were very friendly with each other. As when we came to class 11 every one’s attitude changed as we began sitting with girls( co –ed school) . I took commerce with computer and all my other friends took commerce with maths.. so we separated in two sections… many new guys also took admission… we all ( both section)sit together only during accountancy class as it was common to all. I made a new friend in class who just sat near to me… he(mr. sandy) was very good at talk , in knowledge etc… every body tease him one or the other way.. I did not do all such things.. this happens only when 2 sections meet in one big hall for accounts class.. one day my computer madam made me mentor of class.. every body opposed it… they said no need… but I followed madam’s words and like a kid I took complaints to her when they make noice or do not obey me… they started making fun of me and also do not obey me… all but only that friend( name: sandy) was with me when every body in class was against me for being mentor… they fight with me say bad words etc… I tolerated this for 6 months… one day I cried of this… he was the only one who came to wipe those tears… I could never forget him…. As days goes by mentor changed and every body’s behaviour too changed… but still I don’t talk with those people who behaved with me like a bitch… we passed on 12 and left the school… by that time those people became little friendly but still I just give smile today(2012) when they meet that’s all.. sandy and me came to same college… for the first 3 months he was good with me in coll… but he changed and mingled with other rich guys of my class… initially I did not mind cause even I too had so many good friends in my class… he did not sat with me.. in fact he went to other side of bench group.. in class every body tease him cause his dressings is too odd… I never did it again… cause I respect him as he was the only one with me when no one was with me.. he use to behave in class like different( wear low waist pants , his height is too low.. called himself as dj… etc… totally changed.. but that changed did not affected me.. he started fighting with other caste people in class… some times with professors.. etc… every body talk bout him that he is mad.. and ignores him… but I cant do that.. but he never talks with me in class unless I talk to him.. I only say him hi whats up etc… (I still remember his favour) as if he is not interested in me… time goes by and we finished our coll in 2009…. After this he had started talking much about narrow things to those who meets him( old school friends of 2005-2006)… like we must not use this product as it is not indian ,not to use face book though he uses it.. one day in face book he told bad words to me about grandfather… from that day I do not talk with him… tell me guys what shoild I do… shoild I still respect him for what he had done with me in school.( cause I am still doing that). or as every body says that he has became mad ignore him, he is no more like before…. I wont and never talk bout him bad to any one… What should I do… should I accept the fact that people change no matter what they did to you… cause he now don’t remember those days I guess… cause we were very close in class, after class while going home we talk till 5 in eve…. Help me pls…

Voting Question: chemistry Rate Law Question plz help?

1. For a particular reaction the hydroxide ion is one of the reactants. Doubling the concentration of the hydroxide ion while holding all other concentrations constant, changes the rate of reaction from .002 to .008. What is the order with respect to the hydroxide ion? 2. Consider the reaction 2 A + B---->Products Tripling the concentration of A, without changing the concentration of B, does not change the rate of the reaction. However, doubling the concentration of B, without changing the concentration of A, doubles the rate of the reaction. What is the rate law for this reaction? 3. For a Particular reaction the rate law is found to be Rate = K [A][B]^2 If the molarity of A is tripled while the molarity of B is doubled, what will be the effect on the rate? Please answer what you can and please show your work...Thank you very much guys I really appreciate this.

Resolved Question: How can I get Windows XP Home Edition?

I got a laptop for free from my friend. It was running Windows XP (very slowly). So to respect my friend, and try to speed up the computer I completely formatted the hard drive, then installed Ubuntu Linux 12.04 LTS. I decided I didn't care for Ubuntu and want to convert back to Windows XP. Is there a way I can legally get Windows XP free, then use the product key on the bottom of the computer to register it? There weren't any hidden partitions, I did a clean DOD format of the hard drive. I would've found a way to salvage it if possible, but it's nearly impossible. Just an FYI I have an Associates in computer technologies, so I'm not new to this subject. Also when I say free technically I have the product license so it's not illegal, also by free I mean is there maybe a trial version I can download then use the product registration key to register it to make it genuine.

Resolved Question: Partial derivative question w/ marginal labor and marginal capital?

Let P=P(K,L) represent the total production P of an economic system as a function of the amount of labor L and the capital investment K. Then The partial derivative of PL= ∂P/∂L is the rate at which production changes with respect to the amount of labor, and is called the marginal product of labor; The partial derivative of PL= ∂P/∂K is the rate at which production changes with respect to the capital, and is called the marginal product of capital. Economists Cobb and Douglas modeled the total production in the American economy from 1899 to 1922 with the function P=1.01L^(0.75)K^(0.25) where L is the amount of labor and K is the capital investment. A. Find the marginal product of PL=∂P/∂L B. Find the marginal product of PK=∂P/∂K I tried solving this and I got 0 for both answers but it is wrong and I have no idea how to figure this out. Please help me out! Thank you so much.
